Can I use LoomHost.com
for a non-Moose Lodge related website?
No. Running and maintaining a web server is a hair-pulling, patience
testing venture. We chose to offer this service not to cash in on
the booming web hosting business, but to fill a niche in cyberspace.
Being a member of The Loyal Order of Moose, the site owner felt a
need for this service after browsing so many Lodge web sites that
are hosted on very annoying free web hosts which are loaded with pop-ups
and flashy banner ads. WOTM (Women of the Moose) websites are also
welcome! We also will accept websites that offer resources relating
to the LOOM or WOTM.

Can LoomHost.com register
a domain for me?
Yes! Registering a domain is not expensive, unless you listen
to those commercials on the radio and on TV offering a "discounted
rate of only $19.95!" www.GoDaddy.com
offers domain registration for only $8.95/yr. We encourage you
to register your own domain and manage it on your own, but if you
just don't want to, we will be glad to do it for you. We charge
$10.00/yr for domain registration, but this includes being listed
as the "Technical Contact", and we will be responsible for
setting up the domain and changing settings as needed. The domain
will list you as the registered owner, but the administration emails
will go to us. You can request at any time for us to turn all maintenance
responsibilities over to you. The domain will be "pushed"
into your own account. (Registering at GoDaddy.com will be required...

web site design... can I have one made?

Who will maintain my web
site once I have it on your servers?
LoomHost.com offers easy, affordable website hosting for do-it-yourself
webmasters. You or your webmaster will be responsible for uploading,
maintaining, and updating your Lodge's website, including creating
email addresses, email forwarding, etc. We do not offer web site maintenance
unless we are contracted to create or redesign the website.

What kind of operating
system do you use?
Our servers operate Red Hat Linux, a Unix based server platform.
We do not support .ASP, a Microsoft (Windows Server) compatible
language.
Another note about our web server:
In addition to being located inside a state-of-the-art datacenter
in the heartland of the USA, our server is powered by Dual Intel
® Xeon™ CPU 2.40GHz with 512Mb RAM. No sluggish
performance here!

How many email addresses
can I have?
The number of email addresses available is virtually unlimited.
You can create as many as you need! Simply log in to your Control
Panel and use the mail utility to create and manage your email addresses.

How will I access my
Hosting Account at LoomHost.com?
You can access your account by pointing your browser to www.yourdomain.com/cpanel.
From there you can manage everything from email addresses to My
SQL databases. Test drive the Control Panel here.
Username and password are both "demo".

How will I upload my site
to your servers?
You will have FTP access to your hosting account. We recommend using
WS_FTP,
a popular and user-friendly ftp client. You can also upload your files
through the Control Panel. Just click on the "File Manager"
link.

I use Front Page. Can
I still host my Lodge's website at LoomHost.com?
Yes. Just choose the appropriate hosting plan marked "with
Front Page". You can sign up for either plan, and if you need
to use Front Page extensions later, they can easily be added to
your account, no matter which plan you choose.
Please Note:
Our past experience has indicated that the Front Page interface
sometimes causes problems on the server, and on the client's hosting
account. Please be aware of this if you plan on using Front Page
to create and manage your website.

Will I have enough storage
space and bandwidth?
Certainly! You may have seen other hosting plans out there with
3Gb storage and 10Gb bandwidth every month, but let's be realistic.
90% of all the websites out there use less than 50Mb of space and
less than 1Gb a month of bandwidth. We are offering a realistic 500Mb
storage and 3Gb bandwidth every month, which is more than enough.
Should you need more space or bandwidth just let us know. More than
likely we will be able to increase your resources without blinking.
It's very doubtful this will be required though.

I am having trouble using
the Control Panel. Is there help for me?
Yes. You can contact us and we will be glad to help you. If we
are not immediately available you can use the cPanel
User Guide. It might be helpful to you if you browsed the forum
as well.

What forms of payment
do you accept?
We accept PayPal (for users who wish to pay instantly using a
credit card or e-check) and Checks/Money Orders. PayPal payments are
processed immediately and your account is automatically set up for
you upon payment completion.
